- Demonstrated ability to set and influence a technical vision for your team and beyond
- 7+ years of experience in a software development role
- Bonus: Previous people management experience
- Bonus: Familiarity with GraphQL, Docker, and Docker Compose
What the job involves
- As the Staff Technical Lead Manager, you will serve as both the technical leader, as well as the individual people manager, for the New Verticals squad
- You’ll work alongside a small, experienced team of leaders, including one of our founders, who have built and scaled unicorn products to develop new solutions for healthcare payment experiences
- Act as the technical leader and manager of a team of 3+ engineers delivering features across the stack
- Work closely with your product counterpart to decide which products and features to build. You’ll often be part of design and prioritization conversations
- Write, review, and ship code alongside your team. You will be both a technical leader and individual contributor
- Interact with end users of the products and features you develop. As part of a fast-moving team developing new products, you’ll have many opportunities to meet directly with our end users
- Collaborate with other staff+ engineers and managers across engineering on engineering-wide organization, technical, and process initiatives. As a staff level engineer you will also proactively identify and lead out on a subset of these initiatives
- A key part of this role will be striking the right balance of maintaining high quality, and lean process introduction, while still enabling a culture of extremely fast delivery and learning

The subsequently low patient satisfaction rates lead to poorer care, and real losses for providers who see patients switching away from their plans. Cedar looks to remedy this long-time problem set with a selection of consumer-facing services which streamline billing, insurance, and healthcare processes.

Future healthcare billing concerns a huge percentage of US adults, and optimizing patient satisfaction is of increasing concern in a competitive sector for healthcare providers. Like other companies with a tech-forward focus, Cedar has been able to capitalize on an industry increasingly expanding towards digital healthcare solutions.
After acquiring competing patient finance streamlining service OODA Health in 2021, Cedar has gone on to capture even more success. The company has netted substantial funds on top of the launch of its Payer Intelligence Layer, which allows it to integrate data from insurers and providers to create a single source of information. It was also endorsed by the Montana Hospital Association's shared services division MHA Ventures (MHAV), to be listed as its only preferred patient financial engagement technology, all boding well for its performance into the future.

Florian began their business career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company within their healthcare practice. Florian holds a M.D., D.D.S. and PhD from the University of Freiburg, Germany.
