Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience in a broad range of systems development
- Extensive experience building scalable public APIs and a deep understanding of REST (preferably in a range of languages)
- Find scaling systems for high availability and load to be a rewarding challenge
- Some production devops experience (Kubernetes preferably)
- Be a polygot developer who is comfortable in multiple programming languages and runtime environments, ideally with strong Python and Javascript knowledge included
- A solid understanding of system design and architecture patterns (ex: service-oriented architecture)
- Experience with modern development frameworks in the Javascript ecosystem, with knowledge of single-page applications
- Understand Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- System and software architecture experience with highly available distributed systems
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Experience with message queues and associated design patterns
- Been exposed to and experienced several cloud product offerings and their SDK’s
What the job involves
- Our Platform team needs a motivated and talented engineer. Ideal candidates have experience working in a cross functional team and consider themselves a full stack engineer with experience ranging from UI to REST API’s to databases. They have experience with distributed systems and have a thoughtful, pragmatic approach to system design and architecture. With a goal of increasing engineering throughput and product agility through investment in shared technology, the Platform team is responsible for delivering features that impact multiple business units such as Retail and Content
- Developing software, from ideation to delivery, on a daily basis
- Automating tests and common operational tasks to support the software long term
- Providing technical expertise and assistance to other development teams within the organization
- Improving systems and processes to streamline software development
- Effectively communicating with stakeholders regarding software and system changes
- Collaborating with the product owner or Lead Engineer on a frequent basis regarding features and user stories
