Who you are
- Prior experience within the insurance sector within industry experience, within a Risk, Governance or Commercial Operations 1LOD function with qualitative and quantitative responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and data analytics
- Strong analytical, written and communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills (self-managing) with an excellent attention to detail
- Effectively operate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
What the job involves
- Aviva are currently seeking a Strategic Insights Manager to become an integral part of developing and delivering strategic insight across the business
- You will focus on turning data into valuable insights looking to perpetually improve our management reporting and ours systems aiming for world class delivery
- We are a key growth area within our business looking to supercharge our performance through modernized data and technical architecture to underpin our future plans
- You will also have responsibility for researching, collating, analysing, and managing data from across our business’s MI teams, from capture, through to structure and finally to delivering insights to help us improve the quality of our decisions, activity and business outcomes
- The ideal person is someone that enjoys significant autonomy to design and build bespoke dashboards, materially input into our complete reporting suite and ultimately lead the development of this segment
- Ensuring the Business Area captures financial and conduct data in accordance with our Risk Policies, processes, and relevant operational frameworks, to support senior management’s decision-making process
- Actively promoting a risk culture of care that encourages mindful risk taking, aligned to strategy and our risk appetite
- Ensuring management have a sound understanding and quality information of our business activities through formalised management information suites, dashboards, reporting packs (playbooks) and visualisation
- Providing their stakeholders and peers with appropriate support and collaboration as required, challenge, and provide guidance regarding data design, analysis and development within the Business and get involved in developing the right tools for management reporting, ensuring the visualisation tools we use, or build are fit for purpose
- Responsible for using business data and MI, the role holder will have the willingness and capacity to expand their role into other adjacent areas in supporting our transformation, modernisation, and growth plans

In the wake of a Pensions Dashboard Programme delay in the UK, Aviva is in the running to take over the programme thanks to its pre-existing private systems. This exemplifies Aviva’s renewed focus on the fintech sector, all whilst playing national analyst during the cost of living crisis thanks to its annual Age of Ambiguity study.
