Role
Who you are
- Formal education in Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related field
- A rock-solid foundation in Computer Science (data structures, algorithms, software/system design)
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
- At least 4 years of experience managing (directly or indirectly) teams, note that this role is also open to more experienced managers (Senior and Director)
- Excellent understanding of software development methodologies and tools
- Experience taking direct ownership and acting as a senior technical lead (e.g. to bootstrap new projects)
- Experience in developing and extending complex systems across multiple release cycles
- Technical prowess particularly earning credibility and respect of current engineering
What the job involves
- Criteo is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a group of 5+ teams as part of the Criteo R&D Platform department
- You will work closely with R&D leadership and many engineering teams, directly reporting to the R&D Platform VP Engineering. You will have the opportunity to continuously learn new leadership skills and share your expertise
- You’ll have a huge impact on Criteo’s products and services. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the productivity of our R&D organization while managing a growing number of clients, enabling us to scale our business effectively
- Own a given scope, build a technical vision and strategy aligned with Criteo and R&D Platform goals
- Build roadmaps, take decisions, delegate when necessary and prioritize on your scope
- Build teams, recruit, motivate and mentor world class engineering talent
- Manage managers and indirectly a group of ~40 engineers
- Help define and implement best practices and standards across your teams and R&D
- Help align with internal and external stakeholders (including vendors), adapt your communication to your audience
- Contribute and promote R&D culture and values
