Role
Who you are
- Strong practical experience working with commerce system, lead engineering teams and experience in software development, with a focus on cloud technologies
- Proven experience integrating third-party services and platforms
- End-to-end SDLC experience with solid architectural design knowledge
- Experience in building scalable and secure cloud-based applications and infrastructure using AWS technologies, including Lambda, SQS, API Gateway and Dynamo DB
- A keen awareness of architectural design patterns including eventing and microservices
- Experience designing and integrating REST and GraphQL APIs, including webhooks and OAuth
- A track record of leading and delivering complex initiatives involving multiple systems and partners
- Experience with Shopify would be a bonus, but isn't essential
- You communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences
- You take ownership, speak up when something isn’t right, and work collaboratively across teams
- You enjoy solving complex problems and improving how systems work together
- You are proactive, open to change, and focused on quality and continuous improvement

What the job involves
- The Operations Technical Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the technical direction for services and integrations within the operations domain, ensuring internal systems and third-party platforms work seamlessly together to support the business order and fulfilment journeys
- You will translate business needs into robust technical solutions, champion engineering standards, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement across services, integrations and platform performance
- You will work hands-on alongside engineers, architects, and product teams to provide technical leadership, manage the impact of change, and ensure our solutions are secure, resilient, and aligned to our overall technology strategy
