Who you are

5+ years benefits & retirement administration experience in a global/multi-location
Solid knowledge of benefit plans, including HSA, FSA., 401k, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, and ADD/Life. Prior experience as an account liaison with a health insurance agency preferred
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Federal and State regulatory laws in regards to Payroll, Benefits, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and ERISA
Prior experience with benefit management and time off administration in Workday required
Must be analytical, organized and self-motivated with ability to manage competing priorities with a strong sense of confidentiality
Comfortable working hands-on to get things done and quickly shifting to complex strategy discussions
Can accomplish results and desired outcomes through formal and informal corporate structures
Exceptional client relationship skills
Advanced excel, powerpoint and Google Workspace skills
Certification in benefits (CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP) a plus

What the job involves

BigCommerce is looking for a Senior Benefits Specialist to assist with the company’s global benefits administration
Under general direction from the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, this position is responsible for managing all tasks necessary to accomplish BigCommerce’s benefits administration objectives
This position serves as the point of contact for benefits and related HR Policy execution. This position is hybrid and based in our Austin office
Lead administration for global benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, spending accounts, commuter benefits, retirement plans, voluntary & supplemental offerings, wellness programs, and COBRA
Lead leave of absence administration; work with third-party administrators ensuring that leaves and disability programs are being administered timely, accurately and in accordance with state and federal leave laws; calculate pay and duration of benefits while on leave. Partner with HRIS on Workday absence and leave configuration
Performs complex analysis of data to support benefits compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, 401(k) annual audit, Non-Discrimination Testing, 401(k) funding, benefits billing, etc
Partner with HRIS and Payroll to coordinate the annual Open Enrollment process, including Workday system setup, testing, execution, and coordination of data to providers
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including but not limited to ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc
Maintain benefits portal on Company's intranet site, ensuring employees have access to the latest benefits information
Provide exceptional customer service to employees while building strong business relationships
Assists Senior Manager,Total Rewards in the planning of Company benefit events, benefit plan design, and communications

SaaS eCommerce platform BigCommerce is taking full advantage of the recent shift towards online shopping with its software that helps businesses of all sizes build and run eCommerce sites. Aside from providing a template for stores with functions including shipping and payment tracking, it also provides tools to cross-sell on other markets such as Amazon.
