We’re looking for engineers who are self driven, optimistic, creative, and resourceful. We have no requirements for a background in robotics, but find most success with engineers excited by the domain and looking to apply their expertise and experience in a new area
Our ideal candidate will be open to doing approximately 50% back-end and 50% front-end work with flexibility to sway more towards one or the other, depending on current projects and team needs

What the job involves

We’re looking for a senior engineer to architect and build the core manufacturing systems that power our factory including MRP, MES, inventory, work order management, and production tracking systems tightly integrated with our robotic arms
You’ll design and implement software that directly orchestrates physical production workflows, connects digital systems to real-world hardware, and ensures reliability, traceability, and operational excellence across our manufacturing stack
Design and evolve our internal MRP/MES systems that manage BOMs, inventory, scheduling, and production workflows
Build APIs and services that interface directly with robotic systems and factory-floor tooling
Develop real-time and event-driven systems that ensure production visibility, traceability, and data integrity
Partner closely with manufacturing, robotics, and operations teams to translate physical workflows into robust software abstractions
Architect systems that prioritize reliability, correctness, and uptime in production-critical environments

Our take

In recent years, the field of robotics has brought to life ideas that once belonged to the world of sci-fi. But, robots are still extremely complex to program, making the automations they facilitate out of reach for many businesses.

Standard Bots is setting out to change this, with AI-powered robots and a complementary robotics platform that means they can be programmed through simple demonstrations. This approach should broaden the accessibility of robots to businesses of all sizes, enabling them to employ automations that can give them a competitive edge.

It's an intriguing proposition, and investors agree, with the company raising substantial funding to support its mission. Standard Bots plans to use these funds to expand its engineering team and speed up the development of its robots. The company will, however, likely need to contend with competition from inexpensive robots from China as it develops into the future.
