Role

Who you are

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack development and significant experience with SAML for identity and access management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and/or related coursework
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in full-stack development with a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies
  • Proven experience with SAML for identity management and Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations
  • Proficiency in Python for back-end development
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL for database management and data modeling
  • Strong front-end development skills, including JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS
  • Solid understanding of RESTful services and API design
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience supporting a heavily trafficked production-level environment
  • Proactive attitude with minimal follow-up required on requirements and tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in C# for application development
  • Familiarity with SQLAlchemy or other ORMs for database interactions

Desirable

  • Experience with FusionAuth for authentication and identity management
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform for infrastructure management
  • Experience with authoring Github Actions deployment scripts
  • Experience with OAuth, OpenID Connect, or other authentication protocols
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture

What the job involves

  • Ary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our engineering team
  • This role will be critical in designing, developing, and maintaining our platform infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and performance
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure platform solutions across the full technology stack
  • Implement and manage SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity federation solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements
  • Optimize application performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve bugs
  • Ensure platform security and compliance with industry standards and best practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices and technical solutions
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our platform
  • Be a part of creating pathways to prosperity by helping to develop training simulations to teach skills that lead to well-paying jobs, for all

Our take

In today's labor market, around 6 million Americans are out of work. Working populations suffer from wage and qualification inequalities, particularly among women, low-income families, and people of colour. Transfr was created to bridge the gap between work-based learning and classroom instruction so students can better develop their careers.

It is an immersive learning startup using virtual reality to simulate on-the-job training. Transfr leverages virtual reality to create simulations of manufacturing-plant shop floors or warehouses for training purposes. Transfr's solution has become even more relevant in recent years as an ongoing labour shortage has meant that employees in high-growth industries have to find new ways of reaching and rapidly upskilling promising new talent.

Because of this, virtual reality technologies are growing in popularity among employers and training providers. One of the biggest challenges for Transfr’s technology is the production costs of the VR simulations. However, Transfr is using the significant funding it has raised to reduce its production costs while simultaenously finetuning the quality and expanding the range of its simulations.
