Role
Who you are
- You have 8+ years of experience building customer-facing software, with deep backend expertise in Python and Django
- You are proficient in designing APIs (REST/GraphQL), managing relational databases (Postgres), and deploying to cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- You are familiar with frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, NodeJS), and are comfortable working across the stack when needed
- You are a natural technical leader with a bias toward action and a strong sense of ownership
- You are experienced in mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing
- You are a clear communicator who brings clarity, reduces ambiguity, and drives alignment
- You are comfortable working in a startup environment with several dynamic and concurrent projects
- You set the bar high, and improve the work of those around you through mentorship and feedback. You strive for excellence and know that there is always room to do better

What the job involves
- The Engineering team at Tomorrow Health builds the technology that connects and scales the home health ecosystem in order to transform the home into the preferred place of care for positive patient outcomes. Our products serve a diverse set of users – doctors, insurance companies, medical equipment suppliers – and ultimately enable us to deliver a higher quality patient experience
- Our team of mission-driven technologists is highly collaborative, supportive, empathetic, curious, and impact-oriented. We partner with the Product, Operations, and Customer Experience teams to identify opportunities to enable a faster, simpler, and more transparent process for patients and healthcare partners
- We are seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong focus on backend development, who will drive and contribute to the execution, planning, and release of high-impact engineering projects
- Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this person will participate in all aspects of the product development and software delivery lifecycle, focusing on raising the bar on technical quality and agility and contributing to our team's responsibility for new payors onboarding and integrations
- You will lead technical design and influence architectural decisions for new and evolving parts of our platform
- You will transform product strategy into technical strategy by leading the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact projects
- You will partner closely with cross-functional team members as a technical owner of key business goals
- You will work across the stack to build scalable APIs and performant services
- You will build and improve internal tooling and drive best practices to support observability, monitoring, and delivery speed
- You will mentor teammates and promote simplicity in solving complex problems across our products and teams as we scale

Tomorrow Health is one of a significant number of startups operating in the healthcare space. The platform allows carers and patients, those homebound permanently, recovering from surgery or living with chronic conditions, to find durable medical equipment. It also coordinates the logistical issues between payers and insurance providers and takes care of home delivery.
An advantage for users is that it goes further than simply being an online shopping platform for medical supplies. It also uses key data to find the most suitable products based on location, insurance coverage, and product specialization. It's also targeting not just patients and their unpaid carers, but healthcare providers. The company has made good progress in this regard by partnering up with Medicaid company Geisinger Health.
The global health tech space is booming, expected to reach a whopping $1.5 trillion USD by 2030. This means that there’s plenty of competition for the Andreessen Horowitz-backed startup.
