Role
Who you are
- 8–12 years of progressive marketing experience in healthcare, MedTech, diagnostics, or life sciences, with a strong emphasis on regulated markets
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred, ideally with a focus in marketing, healthcare, or business strategy
- Demonstrated success owning both upstream strategy and downstream execution, particularly in launch-stage environments
- Deep understanding of provider and patient dynamics in complex care pathways, with the ability to translate insights into impactful campaigns
- Strategic thinker with hands-on executional capability—equally skilled at shaping a brand narrative or building out a sales enablement toolkit
- Excellent communicator with a natural storytelling ability; comfortable presenting to cross-functional stakeholders, including executive leadership
- Proven leadership in cross-functional settings, with the ability to influence, mentor, and collaborate effectively across teams
- Experience launching and commercializing Class II or III medical devices, ideally in cardiovascular or wearable technologies, is highly desirable
- Strong analytical mindset; able to translate data into insights and execute on performance metrics to drive decision-making and impact
- High emotional intelligence and sound judgment, with a bias toward action in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a strategic, execution-focused Director of Marketing to lead our commercial marketing function as we prepare for our product launch
- You will inherit foundational work done to support our clinical trial and build upon it to drive market development, provider engagement, and product adoption
- As the only marketing lead at this pivotal stage, you will own both upstream strategy and downstream execution across brand, product, provider, and patient touchpoints
- Lead market development strategy, including segmentation, targeting, and positioning for early adopters
- Own voice-of-customer (VOC) research to inform product messaging, differentiation, and commercial readiness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Medical, R&D, and Regulatory to ensure market needs are embedded in product roadmap decisions
- Contribute to pricing and reimbursement strategy, leveraging early field insights and customer input
- Create and manage all marketing assets, including sales tools, training decks, provider education materials, and patient collateral
- Build integrated go-to-market campaigns across digital, field, and in-person channels—aligned with regulatory standards
- Partner closely with Sales, Clinical, and Customer Experience teams to support launch readiness and drive adoption in early markets
- Own brand development and narrative across the company’s external voice
- Identify key referral patterns, whitespace, and activation opportunities across launch geographies
- Support early KOL engagement, site activation, and speaker programs
- Define and track commercial KPIs (e.g., adoption, adherence, NPS) to inform iterative strategy and resource planning

Element Science is a medical device company developing wearable solutions for patients with cardiovascular diseases. Through the use of machine learning algorithms, Element Science's wearable devices are able to both detect and treat lethal heart rhythms that can lead to sudden cardiac death.
The company's flagship product - which was funded by Google Ventures and Third Rock Ventures - is a wearable defibrillator called Jewel. In addition to Jewel, Element Science is also developing other wearable solutions, including a wearable patch that has the ability to monitor heart function and detect potential problems before they become life-threathening.
