Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience as a full stack software engineer
You have an entrepreneurial spirit, and are excited to use your technical skills to positively impact business outcomes alongside user privacy and experiences
You have experience working with some combination of Node/TypeScript, React (or similar framework), GraphQL, and Postgres (or similar relational database)
You enjoy working within cross-functional groups spanning marketing, data, and finance
Nice-to-have: you have experience with growth/marketing engineering, working with tools like MMPs (eg Singular), analytics eventing and data engineering (eg Segment, GTM/GA, Fivetran), BI tools (eg Amplitude, Looker), and/or CRMs (eg Braze)
You write clean, reliable code across a variety of platforms

What the job involves

Team Luna is Rocket Money’s growth engineering team. From the moment someone first hears about Rocket Money, through their first few days of using the platform, our code makes sure that a user’s first interactions are seamless, valuable, and delightful.
We work closely with product, marketing, and data teams on tools and integrations that help us understand our users and drive favorable business outcomes like increased retention, engagement, and ROAS (return on ad spend)
Coding out experiences across web and mobile through a uniquely iterative, data-driven development process
Owning the systems that quickly and reliably bring data into the hands of automated systems, ML models, and decision-makers
Helping other dev teams understand and leverage our marketing and analytics stacks
Integrating a wide range of products to surface insights about user analytics, attribution, engagement, retention, and satisfaction
Leading investments into the the tooling and developer experience of Rocket Money’s technical platform

Our take

Managing finances has become increasingly difficult in the last couple of decades, despite access to online banking and other financial apps. The mass of subscriptions, standing orders and utility bills the average American is subject to ultimately makes it difficult to assess and manage their finances within one place.

Rocket Money (formerly Truebill) provides a mobile application that includes a variety of tools that aim to simplify financial management. Tools include an automatic subscription tracker which aims to increase transparency and simplicity for canceling unwanted subscriptions, in addition to monthly spending analytics and budgeting plans.

Whilst there seems to be an app for just about every form of financial management, Rocket Money has taken much-needed action by unifying everything into a single app. Whilst the company initially focused on financial management tools, it's now branched out to more direct financial tools such as utility bill comparison services, autopilot saving and paycheque advance loans.
