- The Sales Development Representative at Vrbo is a crucial contributor to the success of the new business development sales teams
- This role primarily involves identifying, qualifying, and advancing new business leads in high-demand destinations, which are then handed off to the Business Development Sales Team
- Key prospecting activities include lead list creation, data scraping, organic search, cold-calling, and targeted outreach via email and phone
- These efforts are essential for building a robust pipeline of opportunities and ensuring the sales team has a steady flow of qualified leads to pursue
- Opportunity Creation: Engaging in meetings to build customer accounts and creating a plan to continue to maintain a pipeline of opportunities
- Strategic Thinking: Coming up with new ideas to ensure opportunities are captured and handed over to the Market Development Manager
- Data Gathering: Collecting information to address business needs and documenting business cases for change

Between 2021 and 2022, Expedia has been selling and merging a list of its sub-brands in a bid to simplify its operations, including Egencia and Classic Vacations. Due to plummeting share prices, mostly in the case of its sub-brands, Expedia has been leveraging its subsidiaries' customer base and merging them into the company’s core brand.
