Who you are
- HR background with project delivery and CoE expertise and experienced in operating in a matrixed global environment
- Excellent stakeholder management with senior business leaders and ability to influence change
- Strong relationship skills and ability to build rapport with stakeholders
- Awareness of what, and how, the wider business strategy can be supported by the HR Function
- Experience coaching and mentoring line managers, project consultants, CoE partners
- Demonstrated success in delivering results under tight deadlines
- Global Acumen with sensitivity to diverse cultures and personality types
- Track Record in driving changes through influencing and communication
- Positive and driven mindset
- Strong Delivery Focus
- Can look ahead, anticipate, speak up and act with initiative
- Value-adding experience and expertise gained in HR functions (such as Business Partnering, Talent, Reward, HR Operations etc.) would be highly beneficial

- We have a brilliant opportunity for an HR Business Partner to lead and support the delivery of our HR agenda within a defined business area
- Reporting to the HR Director, and working closely with the Heads of HR and business leaders this person will:
- Use Data & Analytics as well as Business and HR insight to influence change initiatives at a strategic level
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement appropriate organisational design, structures and job roles
- Lead critical Business and HR Function projects
- Creating strategic partnerships with leaders and establishing a licence to operate
- Strategy & Planning: Working with the Heads of HR to support a specific customer group(s) within a vector or function. Operating as an integral part of the vector/function to lead the design and implementation of the HR Strategy aligning to abrdn strategic objectives
- Strategic Capability Planning with CoEs: Implementing appropriate strategic capability planning (e.g. talent and resourcing strategies) to deliver the right people in the right place at the right time with the right skills
- Change Management: Working with senior business leaders to proactively plan, advise and support the implementation of change, its’ impact on people and working practices to enable improved business performance whilst ensuring this also supports abrdn’s organisational culture and values
- Leadership: Forming strong and influential relationships between self, leaders and HR Function colleagues in order to deliver strategic value to abrdn. In addition, demonstrates personal credibility and capability across the function to provide a quality service
- Leveraging the breadth of CoEs to the business: Talent and Organisational Effectiveness, Global Reward, D&I and HR Service
- HR Function Service Delivery: Ensuring effective flow of communication between CoEs and Business. Where appropriate supporting escalations and problem resolution
- Employee Engagement: Collaborating with the CoEs and the business to drive employee engagement initiatives and plans for retaining and winning top talent

Abrdn, formerly known as Standard Life Aberdeen, is a global investment company helping its clients to save and invest for their futures. It operates three businesses - Investments, Adviser and Personal - and has been operating since way back in 1825.
Nowadays, atop its investment and advice services, the company delivers two platforms for financial advisers. The first, Wrap, enables users to build and manage portfolios for each client. It also includes SIPP drawdown capabilities - which means advisers can choose the best platform charges when client assets are at their highest. The second, Elevate, encompasses a suite of tools for advisers to save time and make sure their clients are informed.
Recently, Abrdn announced "adviserOS" which represents an upgrade to their platform offerings. There is limited information to go on, but the company claims this new venture will be more simple and data-led, as well as require less admin. It will be interesting to see if this new release keeps pace with tech developments across the investment space, and allows abrdn to continue as an innovator.
