Role
Who you are
- Experience: 10+ years in software development and systems integration, with strong expertise in platform design and development
- Certifications in solution architecture from one or more commercial cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java and Kotlin. Nice to have experience with Python, Ruby, or NodeJS
- Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex integration projects in enterprise environments, particularly in large-scale API solutions
- Integration Design: Extensive experience designing and implementing APIs and integrations in large-scale, enterprise environments. Engineering and Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities with an engineering mindset
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage with both technical and business audiences
- Security & Compliance: In-depth understanding of security protocols, authentication methods, and data privacy regulations to ensure secure and compliant data exchange
- Critical Thinking: Ability to adapt to new technologies and effectively balance stakeholder and user needs
- Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile methodologies, including Kanban, Lean, and Scrum
- DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and deployments
What the job involves
- We seek an experienced Platform Integration Architect to define and drive strategy, standards, and ecosystem for our IT Reference Labs
- You will lead the design and integration of operational systems, ensuring seamless data and process flows across our global business
- As a technical leader, you will standardize interfaces with cloud applications, data engineering platforms, and third-party services
- Your expertise will shape next-generation applications in our LIMS (Lab Information Management System) ecosystem, optimizing interoperability and efficiency
- Define Integration Strategy: Develop and communicate a platform integration strategy aligned with business goals, in collaboration with the Product Owner
- Design Platform Architecture: Create a secure, scalable, and high-performance architecture to support API-led connectivity, reusability, and modularity by adhering to industry best practices
- Establish Governance: Implement and enforce governance standards to ensure consistency and quality throughout the application lifecycle
- Select and Optimize Platforms: Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of platforms to streamline development, deployment, and management across cloud infrastructure
- Oversee Development Teams: Guide the design, development, and maintenance of applications using REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, gRPC, JSON-RPC, SOAP, Webhooks, and OData standards
- Stay Updated with Trends: Keep up with emerging API technologies and trends, evaluating and recommending their integration into the ecosystem
- Foster Team Collaboration: Promote a collaborative team environment focused on innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
- Conduct Code Reviews: Perform code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and provide constructive feedback
- Implement Vendor System Integrations: Design and integrate vendor software to meet Product Team requirements and ensure optimal performance
- Analyze Solution Architectures: Evaluate current solution architectures to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements
- Design Complex Systems: Lead the design of large, complex systems, conducting impact analysis on major design choices
- Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical governance on integration standards and implementation approaches
- Assist in Integration Implementation: Contribute to the implementation of integrations using API and integration platforms
- Evaluate Risks and Edge Cases: Assess edge cases and potential risks such as security breaches and system behavior to ensure full-stack availability
