Who you are
- It is imperative that the successful candidate has recent experience working as a commercial analyst or senior finance analyst with strong data visualization skills, especially through Tableau (required) and Pigment (desirable)
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a commercial finance, revenue analysis, or FP&A department
- Proven experience in a revenue-focused role with strong exposure to revenue recognition principles and sales pipelines - critical for understanding our commissions process
- Advanced Tableau skills (essential) with hands-on experience manipulating large, complex datasets and building executive-level dashboards
- Direct experience calculating and managing complex sales commissions and multi-tiered incentive schemes
- Strong system savvy, with experience using modern sales incentive platforms (e.g., Spiff, CaptivateIQ, Xactly) highly desirable, alongside solid Excel skills and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified, Part-Qualified, or equivalent experience is preferred/a bonus but not essential
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail, accuracy, and resourcefulness
- Self-starter with the ability to work cross-functionally as well as independently in a remote environment
- Strong team player with the ability to learn quickly and manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environment

What the job involves
- Sitting within the FP&A function, this role will play a critical role across many of our key reporting and insights activities. You will undergo the calculation of commissions and one off incentive payments, provide financial insight across various areas, and support the implementation of company wide dashboards through various tools, predominantly Pigment & Tableau
- Business Partnering is a key element of the role, both across the wider FP&A team and extended to the rest of the business where appropriate. You will be providing key commentaries and analysis to support strategic decision-making and assisting the Finance Leadership team to drive profitable growth. You will also ensure consistency and sharing of data insights across business streams, working closely with sales operations and regional teams
- This role will allow the successful candidate to be a part of a growing business, with deep financial, operational, and commercial exposure. You will add value through supporting sales performance, maintaining incentive plan accuracy, and delivering on both short- and long-term commercial initiatives, focussing on turning data into analytics and insight
- Provide a high-quality end-to-end financial partner service to the business, offering expert financial advice and challenging the business to support decision-making that sustains the delivery of strategic and operational revenue planning
- Build, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards in Tableau to democratize financial data and provide real-time, actionable performance metrics to sales leaders and executives
- Manage the end-to-end computation, validation, and reporting of complex, multi-tiered sales commission and incentive structures, ensuring absolute accuracy and alignment with commercial contracts
- Provide value-adding financial insight, support, and challenge by building effective working relationships at all levels, including senior sales managers and other cross-functional departments in the business
- Administer and enhance specialized sales incentive platforms (SPIFF) to streamline payouts, model new plans, and improve visibility for the sales team
- Continually identify and implement improvements to business processes to increase efficiency and ensure all commercial data is captured accurately and in an effective manner
- Support ad hoc requests for analysis and information from the FP&A Team, Senior Managers & Executives within the business
- Be comfortable with defining and owning what should be part of the role and communicating effectively to leadership where a process or output should sit under a different team, to make us as operationally effective as possible

Turnitin has a global reputation for being one of the best plagiarism detection software's on the market. It’s well-earned, too. Besides simple paraphrasing plagiarism, its software also employs sophisticated techniques like identifying macro replacement and analysing metadata to weed out essay mill papers.
Academic plagiarism has become increasingly complex over the years, exacerbated in part by the COVID period of online schooling, and in part by a skyrocketing rise in computer literacy and plagiarism tricks. Software like Turnitin is therefore playing an increasingly crucial role in maintaining academic integrity. Additionally, it helps understaffed institutions ease the burden placed on a teaching workforce which are, in some regions, perilously close to collapse.
Turnitin is not without its issues, however. Some institutions lean too heavily on the software, and essay mills have begun using Turnitin software to prove product authenticity. Historically, Turnitin has neatly addressed these problems by releasing new or improved capabilities including Chat GPT screening updates in 2023. If it can continue to demonstrate remarkable competence and proactive development in this regard, Turnitin’s glowing reputation seems assured.
