Role
Who you are
- 5+ years’ experience selling complex B2B SaaS or data-driven platforms
- Demonstrated success building and converting pipeline not just inheriting it
- Experience managing enterprise sales cycles, including procurement, security reviews, and technical evaluation
- Experience selling solutions that combine software, hardware and professional services
- Comfortable operating in a fluid environment and shaping a go-to-market motion
- Builder mentality energised by creating something, not managing something
- Experience in proptech, IoT, energy, workplace or operational analytics is helpful but not essential
What the job involves
- This is a hands-on commercial role
- You will personally win new business while designing the sales motion that will scale with the company
- You will work closely with the Senior Management Team, Product and Marketing to sharpen positioning, define our ideal customers and turn opportunity into repeatable revenue
- We are looking for a team player here who can develop strategies in line with other areas of business to ensure the customer experience is enhanced at every point along the sales journey
- We're a typical start-up: we roll up our sleeves and do what has to be done to provide the best possible experience for our customers
- Create and close new business opportunities across mid-market and enterprise accounts
- Build pipeline through outbound activity, partnerships and targeted prospecting
- Own the full sales cycle from first conversation to signed contract
- Develop compelling commercial cases for operational, energy and asset stakeholders
- Help refine ICP, messaging and pricing
- Feed structured customer insight back into product development
- Establish commercial discipline, forecasting clarity and CRM hygiene
- Lay the foundations for a future sales team
- What Success Looks Like:

Digital transformation is mainly addressed at a business's commercial activities, but it impacts the physical space they occupy too. As a result, stakeholders are demanding healthier, safer, and more productive buildings than can be delivered by traditional (and sometimes archaic) building management systems. Metrikus was founded to deliver real-time data on building metrics to extract operational efficiencies and costs savings.
It has developed a software platform that gathers information from building systems and other sensors to help customers gain insight on different aspects of their built estate, including their building's environment, critical asset maintenance, usage and health. The challenge for Metrikus, and competitors like Goby, Endur and Metasys, will be in delivering these benefits in a single, effective solution across different types of commercial estate, whether office, retail, industrial or logistic.
Funding has helped Metrikus pursue its mission to digitise the entire built environment in new markets like the US, southern Europe, India, Korea and Japan, in addition to strengthening its presence within its existing core geographies. Initiatives such as the Dark January pledge underscore the company's relevance, particularly in a time of spiralling energy costs and concerns about carbon emissions, and help extend its marketing reach.
