Who you are

2+ years in backend engineering, with Python experience (FastAPI)
3+ years in AI/ML engineering having deployed pipelines and/or models in production

Desirable

What the job involves

As a founding engineer you will take a crucial part of building the whole product and the underlying tech, hand-in-hand with Théo, the CTO
In such an early-stage, fast-paced environment, you are expected to write code for every part of the product. Mostly focused on backend and AI-related work, you will also have the opportunity to built our awesome frontend
Design & scale our AI-driven code analysis engine (Python/Go)
Fine-tune ML models to reduce false positives in vulnerability detection
Build robust backend systems for large-scale code analysis
Contribute across the stack (some frontend work in React/Typescript)
Mentor future engineers as the team grows

Our take

French startup Tengo has built a platform that helps businesses identify, analyse and respond to public tenders. Public tenders are especially important in France, with more than 40,000 companies a year pitching for public service contracts. The French government spends half a billion euros a day on these contracts, meaning that quick and effective response processes are a real draw for companies.

With AI at its core, Tengo helps speed up the public tender response process, centralising all stages of the tender process. Ultimately, Tengo will live or die on the effect it has on its clients. So far its customers have secured 35 million euros in public contracts, impressive for such a young company. This success has been supported by seed funding that will go towards enhancing its AI capabilities.
