Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of legal experience, preferably with a mix of BigLaw experience and in-house experience at a high-growth tech company
- Strong track record of cross-functional partnership across teams (BD, Finance, Product, Engineering) to align on creative solutions
- Passion for crypto, blockchain technologies, DeFi, DAOs, and/or NFTs
- Collaborative team players with relentless optimism in the face of adversity
- Self-starters with a “pick-up-a-broom” mentality, able to identify problems and take ownership to improve them
- JD from an accredited law school
- Member of a U.S. state bar in good standing, preferably in California or New York
- Nice-to-haves: familiarity with financial & securities regulations; Web3 experience; startup experience; experience founding a company or building side projects

- We are looking for a force multiplier to work closely with our General Counsel to build our legal strategy and grow the legal team over time.
- This individual will have an unparalleled opportunity to advise on virtually every aspect of the business and is expected to autonomously drive projects to completion by partnering closely with cross-functional internal teams and thoughtfully drawing upon outside counsel where needed.
- This is a generalist role requiring the mental agility to tackle the wide variety of legal issues typical for SaaS businesses supporting Web3 and blockchain use cases
- Be an outstanding collaborator with colleagues in sales, product, engineering, finance/accounting, operations, corporate development, equity, and other areas
- Draft and negotiate agreements with strategic customers, blockchain protocols, partners, and software providers
- Develop and update agreements, website terms, and policies, and other scalable processes to help our teams to move faster
- Counsel our product and engineering teams on new product launches and help translate regulations including sanctions, securities law, money transmission laws
- Coordinate with our marketing team to review and develop scalable guidelines on promotional materials and contests
- Support our corporate development efforts and oversee strategic acquisitions
- Stay current with global regulatory frameworks, and support engagement with regulators & lawmakers, notice & comment letters, and review of draft legislation
- Oversee corporate structuring, including domestic and international entity formation to meet business needs
- Advise on global data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA, ensuring that the company's data handling practices comply with privacy regulations
- Advise our People team on employee policies, and other employment law issues
- Continue to build our patent and trademark portfolio, lead trademark enforcement efforts, and counsel engineering teams on open-source strategy
- Advise our Alchemy Ventures team on investment documents (SAFEs, token warrants)

Alchemy offers a platform that simplifies the creation of blockchains and the launching of new nodes. It provides developers with “building blocks” that can be used to make the process more efficient. Alchemy is already working with multinational organizations like Meta, Adobe, and Splunk, and it has won many clients from their current top competitor, Infura.

It continues to refine its platform to gain competitive edge, recently launching a transaction simulation product to help reduce the chances of transactions becoming susceptible to scams.
