Who you are
- You’re a Builder - You have called yourself a hacker/dev/engineer for 5+ years, during which you’ve dug deep into designing and building high-quality backend systems. Our stack includes Ruby on Rails, Hotwire, PostgreSQL, Heroku, AWS, and CircleCI. While in depth knowledge on each of these is not required, some understanding is useful

- With that in mind, we have an amazing opportunity for an experienced, intellectually curious, and creative Senior Backend Engineer to join our fast-growing company
- Like the rest of us, this person will wear many hats; you will work closely with our founders, our product team, and Wunder’s various teams of finance and solar experts
- Your role, broadly speaking, will be to solve problems and push renewable energy forward
- Specifically, you will work alongside our talented team of engineers to bring automation to our solar development, solar value evaluation, and loan servicing systems
- Writing, reviewing, and maintaining code primarily written in Ruby (Rails + Hotwire)
- Developing and maintaining our CI/CD pipeline which allows our team to rapidly deploy well-tested code to production multiple times per day
- Solving complex problems inherent to our domain with our unique blend of Rails’ best practices, functional principles, and service-oriented design
- Working with our Product team to identify high-leverage solutions to help Wunder achieve its mission
- Shaping our architectural philosophy and technical direction by exploring nascent technologies or problem spaces new to Wunder
- Enjoying unallocated, flexible time for deep work, collaboration, or attending to the important non-work aspects of life (the engineering team has 5 hours of “no meeting zone” per day
- Establishing the way in which our team and processes evolve as Wunder embarks on its next phase of rapid growth
Our take
Traditionally, centralised hydrocarbon energy companies have been leaders in energy provision to the masses. More sustainable energy providers, such as solar companies, don't have the infrastructure to provide end-to-end services for commercial and industry owners.
Using zero-carbon energy technology and industry expertise, Wunder Capital allows companies of all sizes to seamlessly implement solar power systems across holdings. Wunder Capital is involved in the design, engineering, and installation of all components and provides support and financing across the board.
Wunder Capital aims to lead the solar revolution over the course of the next decade as the cost of solar deployment is set to decline. As prices decrease, they hope more companies and people will be interested in making the switch to solar. Through use of highly standardised technology, they aim to continue efficiently financing and deploying solar energy systems to meet growing demand.
