Who you are

At least 6 years' experience in PR within the beauty industry
A strong network of relationships with beauty journalists, trade & business press, influencers, agents and other industry insiders
A keen interest in sustainability a plus, as is experience working with founder-led brands

What the job involves

We’re looking for a talented and experienced PR professional to join our team on a 13-14 month FTC maternity cover contract, starting February 2026
We’re open to both full-time applicants and part-time freelance candidates (minimum three days per week or equivalent hours)
Reporting to the Marketing Director, you’ll be responsible for driving Tropic’s PR strategy and activities throughout 2026 - a year that’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet for the brand
Tropic is entering a new chapter, putting a spotlight on everything that makes our brand so special: our purpose-led mission, our founder’s vision, our award-winning products, and the inspiring community that powers our success, our Ambassadors
As our PR Manager, you’ll play a central role in shaping how the world sees and speaks about Tropic
You’ll lead proactive PR strategies that elevate our brand across media, influencer, and social channels
Your work will build awareness, drive engagement, and ensure our voice shines through with authenticity and impact
With a strong understanding of the media landscape, you’ll nurture key relationships, identify timely opportunities, and secure meaningful coverage that cements Tropic’s position as one of the UK’s most ethical and empowering beauty brands
Working closely with our Marketing and Brand teams, you’ll make sure every story told - from a product launch to a purpose partnership - reflects Tropic’s vibrant identity and mission to help create a healthier, greener, more empowered world
Strategy development: Develop and implement Tropic’s PR and Influencer strategy to drive awareness, strengthen reputation and support overall marketing objectives
Creative storytelling: Identify key opportunities to share the Tropic story in a compelling way, securing media and social coverage for brand, founder, business model and product
Own media relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with beauty, trade and business press through regular pitching, events and face-to-face meetings
Influencer & talent partnerships: Manage and grow our influencer relationships, from managing day-today comms with our Tropic Creator Community, leading briefs and paid contracts with all influencer partners, and even the opportunity to lead an exciting macro creator project in 2026
Event planning & execution: Plan and execute PR events, including coordinating with internal teams and external partners and managing budgets
Awards: Enter Tropic into all relevant beauty and business awards, attend and represent the brand at their ceremonies, and amplify all award wins with assets and creative briefs via our Ambassadors and brand channels
Collaborate with cross-functional teams: leverage all PR activity across other marketing channels like social, web and CRM
Reporting & Analysis: define and track KPIs and the full PR budget, updating senior stakeholders on performance and actionable learnings
