Role
Who you are
- You have at least 5+ years of experience in back-end development in a large scale, preferably typed language Java/Scala/Python,, with a focus on delivering for security, scalability, availability, and performance
- You will have worked extensively with AWS(Lambda, Appsync, Glue, Kinesis, Redshift, MWAA etc) in a production environment and understand how to design for, deploy on and get the best out of, the environment and services provided by Amazon
- You can talk easily and spontaneously about most of the offerings on AWS, when to use them, and how, and can explain to junior engineers
- Security is at the forefront of your mind in everything that you do
What the job involves
- We are looking for an engaged and passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering department and be part of the team which manages our analytics & event platform stack
- As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and operation of business-critical features that add customer value on top of Voice
- Best practices, evangelization, and mentoring in your team and across the whole of Engineering will be part of your day to day job
- Quality, excellence, and agility drive our delivery processes and you will help us level these up
- Using mostly Typescript based back-end stacks, hosted on AWS, we build added value and resilient services on top of voice and AI capabilities, and fully integrated with our customers' business critical tools (CRM, Helpdesk, E-Commerce, …)
- Participate in requirements analysis to help with providing the right technical and business solutions for our customers
- Have key responsibilities within the design, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of key modules
- Write clean scalable code and test and deploy applications and systems
- Revise, update, refactor, and debug code
- Be part of an engineering organization delivering high quality, secure, voice solutions to Aircall clients
- Involvement in product and platform performance optimization and live site monitoring
- Mentor team members
Our take
Call centres have been a mainstay of sales teams for decades, with the human touch delivering an impression conversion rate of about 30% for inbound calls. However analogue call centres are physical infrastructure-heavy and unable to take advantage of the flexibility afforded by remote and hybrid ways of work. Aircall exists to change that, providing a cloud-based call centre infrastructure that allows sales teams to work from their home offices.
Aircall isn't the only company in this space, and it faces heavy competition from Cloudtalk, another cloud-based call centre solution. However Aircall stands out in the market by its use of open APIs and webhooks, making integration with existing productivity and helpdesk tools much easier, and its superior call quality. Aircall has developed a significant customer base with these strengths, with over 15,000 companies using its platform.
The company has raised significant funding in recent years, highlighting the confidence investors have in their offering. With a rapidly expanding presence in the US, European, UK and Australian markets and recent refresher leadership hires, Aircall could soon be a widely recognised international player in the telephone software industry.
