Who you are

This is a great job for someone who is passionate about user-centred design and excited by the challenge of exploring the relationship between financial resilience and digital experiences. It’s ideal for someone with a strong background in qualitative UX research
Experience with planning, executing, and reporting user experience research that provides tangible findings with clear actionable recommendations
Comfortable working with designers, product managers, business analysts, developers and business stakeholders to prioritise research opportunities in an agile, fast-paced, iterative environment
Experience with capturing insights through research and workshops that will help inform design outcomes (i.e., user journeys, information architecture)
Have a good understanding of qualitative methodologies as well as best practices and core principles of great user experience and inclusive design
Experience with producing written reports and other research artefacts, and give presentations that inspire action through clarity and relevance for audiences from a range of backgrounds

What the job involves

We are currently recruiting for a Senior UX Researcher to be a part of our innovative UX Research team
This role would be ideal for you if you are passionate about understanding people, and curious about the relationship between financial resilience and digital products
Our UX Research team employ a variety of qualitative methods to obtain insight that impact the design of digital products and services that are used by millions of people
This includes field studies, depth interviews, co-design, accessibility research, card sorting, and usability studies
We value a diversity of perspectives from many different backgrounds, and we come from industry and academia, with roots in anthropology, design research, human-computer interaction design, human factors, and sociology, among others
This role is available as a 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

With 18 million international customers, Aviva is the largest provider of insurance and leading life and pension funds in the UK. With a history that dates back to the founding of Hand in Hand Fire & Life Insurance Society in 1696, Aviva’s current form is thanks to a merger between Norwich Union and CGU plc in the year 2000.

Over the noughties, Aviva grew its market out to Europe and established a high-profile foothold in America thanks to the most expensive advertising campaign of the time that included celebrities Alice Cooper and Bruce Willis. In the wake of a Pensions Dashboard Programme delay in the UK, Aviva is in the running to take over the programme thanks to its pre-existing private systems. This exemplifies Aviva’s renewed focus on the fintech sector, all whilst playing national analyst during the cost of living crisis thanks to its annual Age of Ambiguity study.
