Who you are
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related role
- Must possess experience with:
- Leading a development team
- IOS applications development in Swift/SwiftUI and Objective-C
- UIKit, Core Animations and Core Graphics
- CS fundamentals including algorithms and data structures
- OOP (Object Oriented programming) and design patterns
- Mobile architecture models, including MVVM, MVP, and MVC
- Diagnosing performance and memory issues with Time Profiler
- Unit Testing and Test Automation
- Multithreading using URLSessions, GCD and NSOperations
- Multi-module applications
- REST architecture for web services; and
- SDLC (Agile and Waterfall based)
What the job involves
- Design comprehensive iOS mobile solutions to parallel business goals and technical necessities
- Develop iOS mobile application architecture roadmaps, detailed specifications, and system integration strategies
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, developers, and additional stakeholders to define project reach, obligations, and timelines
- Lead the iOS development team, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior developers
- Enhance iOS mobile applications for performance, expandability, and dependability
- Staying updated with the latest iOS development trends, tools, and technologies
- Actively participating in coding tasks, including implementing new features, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance
- Practice security norms to defend iOS mobile applications from vulnerabilities and online threats
- Oversee the testing process, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing
- Document technical designs, architecture decisions, and codebase changes to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team
Our take
Squire takes point-of-sale management tools and focuses them entirely on the needs of barbershops. Before launching, co-founder Dave Salvant spent time talking to 600 different barbershop owners to understand the boxes Squire had to tick to be a worthwhile product. This included taking cashless payments and providing key insight into employee productivity, hours worked, and commission calculations.
This time spent in barbershops paid off, as Squire now has more than 2,000 customers in North America and the UK. There is considerable opportunity in the United States alone, as they have a potential customer base of more than 135,000 barbershops.
In March 2020, Squire’s revenue fell to zero when the COVID-19 pandemic forced barbershops to close. Luckily, the company had raised $34 million just days before this in a Series B funding round, which enabled it to help barbershops adapt and survive during their lockdowns. Now things have returned to normal, Squire is in high demand and in 2025, is valued at $750 million.
