Role
Who you are
- Experience: 8-10+ years of experience building AI/ML powered applications
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in the architecture of production-grade AI systems. Deep experience with NLP, LLMs, and RAG architectures including model deployment, optimization, and monitoring at scale
- AI Engineering Skills: Demonstrated ability to implement low-latency AI inference solutions with deep understanding of the underlying architecture choices. Experience with model lifecycle management, MLOps, and production-ready monitoring systems. Experience with ETL/pipeline development (e.g., Airflow) and distributed training frameworks like PyTorch Lightning for enterprise-grade AI solutions
- Product Impact: Proven track record of shipping AI-powered features that enhance user experience, not just building models in isolation. Ability to translate AI capabilities into valuable product solutions
- Problem-Solving: Comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at debugging complex AI systems to ensure reliability, performance, and accuracy in production environments
- Remarkable Quality: You produce work that is striking, worthy of attention, and a contribution to the state of the art
- Asynchronous Communicator: You’re effective across various mediums (especially Slack, Notion, and email) and can produce and consume detailed written materials as needed without sacrificing speed. You respond quickly and thoughtfully to unblock others and speed things up
- Start-to-Finish Ownership: You act with 100% responsibility for your own outcomes as well as the outcomes of the company. You discuss and debate ideas openly. You focus on the customer and business ‘so what’ and challenge stakeholders to take impactful action

- Location: We're open to you joining us in our San Francisco office or from a home office anywhere in North or South America

Our take

Superhuman recognizes that our email UX could just be a lot more beautiful and efficient, and have integrated smart features like “unsend” so we never have to suffer the embarrassment of another typo.
Although standing out in a market of free services (they charge a $30 per month fee), Superhuman commanded a waiting list of over 250,000 during its beta testing phase.
With more than $100 million in overall funding from firms like Andreessen Horowitz and First Round Capital, Superhuman is setting trends in emerging enterprise software with both its design and go-to-market strategy. They’ve managed to steal an audience from the big players by giving users something beautiful and more streamlined to work with. Its 2024-released feature is a testament to this, which generates instant reply suggestions for emails that are smart, context-aware and efficient.
