• The Cloud Platform Engineer will serve as a crucial member of our Cloud Platform Engineering Team, specialising in managing and automating GCP Cloud Platforms with an appreciation of AWS and Azure Cloud Platforms
• The Cloud Platform Engineer will be instrumental in establishing, optimising, and maintaining automation standards, ensuring seamless deployment and management of resources across our GCP Platform
• The Cloud Platform Engineer plays a vital role in building and maintaining the i6 infrastructure that supports the i6 biosphere. Collaborating closely with Peers, Product Owners, Developers, and QA Engineers, the Engineer assists in defining and implementing technical solutions, ensuring they are both robust and cost-effective
• The Cloud Platform Engineer contributes proactively to the team’s methodologies, always looking for avenues of continuous improvement
• While not in a senior capacity, they are anticipated to share knowledge, assist in problem-solving, and support their peers in navigating challenges, drawing upon their expertise in Cloud Platforms, Kubernetes & Automation Standards
• Design, develop, and provisions a wide range of tools, services, and cloud platform solutions from CI/CD to Compute Orchestration that aligns with industry best practices, team standards, cost, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and security requirements through automation practices
• Works closely with engineering team members and the engineering team lead to ensure that tech development and delivery is implemented to specification and of sound quality
• Proactively seeks opportunities to improve operational efficiency of the platform you have engineered, being responsible for owning what you build and its availability alongside your peers
• Proactively manages the availability and performance of the cloud platform, ensuring swift interventions to pre-empt or address issues impacting operations
• Works in an Agile team, contributing to typical agile ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Team Retros, Team Demos with a shared work ethic to additionally break down work into deliverable milestones and stories as well as delivering process improvements
• Actively builds and stays abreast of emerging technologies, guiding peers on how to interpret and best leverage the emerging technologies to meet strategic goals
• When necessary, review peers’ code, ensuring it aligns with established standards and best practices adopted within the team
• Actively documents and shares progress and results with stakeholders to gather feedback and foster collaboration with their local team and remote teams
• Creates, maintains, and solicits feedback on solution documents to enable designs to come to fruition adhering to industry standards and practices
