Role
Who you are
- You have at least a very good bachelor's degree or comparable qualification in (Business) Computer Science, a related field of study, or bring relevant professional experience as an IT project manager or software developer
- You have experience in product or project management and have at least two years of professional experience in this field
- You have knowledge of ITIL processes and understand how these can be applied to the operation and further development of IT systems
- You are familiar with security topics such as CIS Benchmarks or OWASP and have practical experience in this area. Additionally, you bring knowledge and ideally experience in the platform or DevOps area
- You have a good understanding of remote software deployment in on-premise and cloud setups, e.g., with Microsoft Azure, as well as basic knowledge of Kubernetes
- Your work style is characterized by analytical and structured thinking
- You speak fluent German and English (Level C1/C2)
What the job involves
- As an IT Project Manager(f/m/d)in the Platform/Operations area, you will help take our product to the next level
- In a team with other colleagues, you will work on the environments that both enable the rest of the company to deliver value and ensure the operation of our customer systems
- The focus is on scalability, reliability, and maintainability. You will work across departments with engineers, customer success managers, and sales managers to improve the user experience
- Together with your squad, you are responsible for operations:
- Of the infrastructure that our engineering colleagues use for software development
- Of the Kubernetes environments on which our software solution runs for our customers
- You drive the continuous development of these environments, based on
- The requirements of our product, the IGP
- Regulatory requirements
- And the needs of internal and external customers
- Since operation and maintenance of our environments is also part of the squad's activities, you ensure that the processes in the squad are effective and align with proven IT standards
- You build trust and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our solutions remain future-proof and meet the highest standards
- You support colleagues from areas such as Sales with technical customer inquiries. Whether by email or in meetings - you ensure they feel confident and well-informed
- As a tech duo, together with your Engineering Manager, you are responsible for your squad's priorities. You ensure continuous value creation through agile principles
- You deeply engage with your stakeholders' processes, identify their challenges, and derive actionable needs for your squad based on discovery approaches
- A variety of stakeholders requires that you prioritize goal-oriented and value-oriented with your squad. You communicate openly about priorities, bring transparency for stakeholders, and create clarity towards management
- Modern & flexible Python/JS/TS stack based on Django, FastAPI, Vue, and more
- Large-scale data processing using industry-standard backing services such as PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, and Redis
- Infrastructure as Code and multi-cloud deployment with Gitlab CI, SaltStack, Terraform, and Kubernetes
Our take
As the world transitions to sustainable energy, millions of new wind energy systems are being integrated into power grids. As well as the number of new consumer solutions, such as electric charging stations is also rapidly increasing, and the integration of these new systems is putting a strain on distribution grids.
Envelio is a cloud-based smart grid platform providing a solution to this challenge. The Cologne-based company has developed the Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP), a software assistance system that transforms power grids into digital, flexible interactive smart grids. Through IGP grid operation management can be carried out digitally at a quicker, more cost-effective pace.
Born out of the Institute of High Voltage Technology at the RWTH Aachen, Envelio has since grown a steady customer base for itself and expanded on an international scale. Recognised as a clean-tech software company, Envelio is driving the change to sustainable energy.
