Who you are
- Experience with US and international toy and children's products and/or child care article standards knowledge required
- 10 years minimum experience in Regulatory Compliance in toy or children's products. Relevant consumer products experience (not in the toy or children's space) will be considered
- Regulatory standards experience highly desired
- ASTM subcommittee experience a plus
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field or related technical field, MBA or Masters of Engineering a plus
- Thrives in a fast paced team environment and is effective working with cross functional teams
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills; is a creative problem solver
What the job involves
- The Director, Regulatory Compliance will be responsible for understanding the regulatory landscape for all the markets that we currently sell in or intend to expand in
- This individual will monitor emerging or changing regulatory requirements and will distill this information to the product development team so that new products, as well as ongoing products, will be compliant to all applicable standards throughout the lifecycle of the product
- Research applicable regulatory requirements within the markets of distribution at the federal, state and local level. This includes both mandatory and voluntary requirements
- Establish a system of outlining and communicating regulatory requirements in a way that can be used for product development to aid in ensuring compliance with product, package, labeling
- Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and document and communicate them to ensure new as well as continuing items remain compliant, including corrective action
- Primary contact with third party laboratories including relationship management, discussing compliance questions, and tracking testing costs
- Manage Hong Kong team member who coordinates and manages the compliance testing process including quoting, sample arrangement with suppliers, and all communication with third party laboratories
- Assist with decision making around potential compliance issues, including corrective action definition
- Establish processes, procedures and systems for developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) around compliance, internal safety requirements and reliability requirements
- Work with suppliers to ensure understanding of compliance requirements
- Manage all product level certificates of compliance
- Primary contact for retailers from a compliance point of view
- Maintain system to house compliance documentation and supplier letters of declaration

Subscribers to Lovevery receive a box every few months containing age-appropriate toys that change and grow in tandem with the child.
Whilst the products are aesthetically pleasing and well built, they are uniquely inclusive, being both gender neutral and customizable, such as a doll’s skin tone. Along with information on its accompanying app, each kit comes with “play cards” that provides context around the toy and its educational purpose, creating an informative and empowering space for parents when approaching play.
Lovevery continues to evolve, starting as a play kit provider and now with an app with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Its partnerships with Target and an expansion into the European market indicate impressive growth. And with new launches including a resale marketplace, the company is well set for even more growth.
