Role
Who you are
- We're looking for a data-driven problem solver who can help us build the analytical engine that powers our business
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL processes
- Proficiency with SQL and at least one programming language (Python, R, or similar)
- Experience with modern data stack tools (Dagster, Snowflake, dbt) and BI/visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to instrument business processes and define meaningful KPIs
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity-you thrive when building and expanding systems
- Ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent communication skills; you can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Desirable
- Experience in staffing, recruiting, or API/SaaS businesses
- Background in statistics or data science
- Previous startup or high-growth company experience
- Experience of using analytics to drive measurable business outcomes
What the job involves
- As our Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst, you'll be instrumental in creating a data-driven approach to running our staffing and API businesses
- You'll be building and expanding our existing data foundation, turning raw business processes into instrumented, measurable systems that tell us what's working and what's not
- You'll work closely with operations teams and senior leadership to ensure our analytics infrastructure serves real business needs
- Design and implement data pipelines that capture critical business metrics across our staffing and API operations
- Enhance and scale our existing data architectures as the business grows
- Analyze complex datasets to uncover insights that drive business strategy
- Build compelling visualizations and reports that translate numbers into narratives that stakeholders can act on
- Partner with operations and senior leadership to identify key metrics that predict success
- Move fast to answer urgent business questions with data-driven recommendations
Our take
Talent identification and acquisition has always been a challenge for HR teams, but the labor shortage is making it more difficult than ever. The founders of AdeptID believe that poor talent matching is a billion-dollar problem, and they’re aiming to address it with its machine-learning-powered API.
While there’s no shortage of talent search and matching platforms, from LinkedIn to Zoho Recruit, AdeptID sets itself apart by providing an API which plugs into existing infrastructure. Another interesting aspect of AdeptID’s approach is how its ML tech focuses on lesser-explored talent avenues, particularly candidates who don’t hold degrees and might otherwise be filtered out in other talent searches.
Having only launched in 2020, AdeptID's bootstrapped first year brought in an encouraging $1 million. Since then, it's been backed by Zeal Capital Partners, and the company has been scaling operations in the last couple of years. It is also a certified B-corp, and in 2023, partnered with OneTen to improve hiring outcomes for black talent in the US.
