Who you are
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school or a recent law graduate
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated interest in corporate, commercial, regulatory, or intellectual property law is a plus
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join Divergent’s in-house legal department for Summer 2026. The intern will work closely with our legal team on a variety of transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters, gaining first-hand exposure to the day-to-day legal operations of a fast-moving technology company
- This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a law student or recent graduate to develop practical skills and learn how an in-house legal function supports a rapidly scaling organization
- Corporate & Commercial:
- Review commercial agreements, including NDAs, SaaS agreements, licensing agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements
- Assist with due diligence reviews of third-party contracts and corporate filings
- Regulatory & Compliance:
- Monitor applicable federal, state, and international regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, consumer protection, industry-specific regulations)
- Support internal compliance audit activities and documentation efforts
- Intellectual Property:
- Conduct preliminary trademark and patent searches
- Review intellectual property provisions in contracts and assist IP counsel in infringement and risk assessments
- Litigation & Dispute Management:
- Research applicable case law and summarize findings in concise briefing memos for senior counsel
- Assist in preparing materials related to ongoing or potential disputes
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain and organize documents in internal systems such as SharePoint and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools
- Assist with general legal operations and administrative tasks as needed
