Who you are
- A strategic thinker who excels in analytical reasoning, with a proven track record of financial stewardship and capability to drive economic value
- The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can effectively communicate the financial narrative to internal and external stakeholders while fostering a culture of financial discipline and innovation within the organization
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate finance, preferably in the defense or manufacturing sectors
- At least 3 years in an executive or leadership role
- Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, and strategic planning
- Mastery of accounting software and financial analysis tools
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, such as MBA
What the job involves
- The Head of Finance will be instrumental in steering the financial direction and growth of our Series A defense startup, specializing in the manufacturing of high-volume weapons systems
- This executive role demands a unique combination of financial acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to guide the Finance department in achieving both short-term objectives and long-term fiscal sustainability
- Financial Strategy and Planning: Formulate and execute a robust financial strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term goals and market opportunities
- Budget Oversight: Develop and manage annual budgets across departments, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic initiatives
- Capital Allocation: Assess and optimize the allocation of capital for R&D, manufacturing, and operational needs
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation plans to safeguard the company’s assets and interests
- Financial Reporting: Oversee quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and stakeholder expectations
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and optimize cash flows to ensure liquidity and financial stability for ongoing operations and future growth
- Investor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with investors, shareholders, and financial institutions to secure necessary capital
- Team Leadership: Assemble and mentor a high-performance finance team capable of executing the department’s initiatives
- Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, especially Procurement and Manufacturing, to achieve cost efficiencies and financial synergies
- Audit and Compliance: Ensure the company meets all legal obligations concerning financial practices, tax payments, and regulatory compliance
