- Have 0 -> 1 product experience: You have 7+ years of experience building net new products and 2+ years of experience managing people (Founder experience is a definite plus)

What the job involves
- We’re looking for an entrepreneurial product leader to step into a Director of Product role to build and scale our product portfolio for Insurance Companies and Health Systems (collectively known as “Payers”)
- The relationships we build with these partners lay the groundwork for our mission to increase affordable mental healthcare access
- As the product leader overseeing this side of our marketplace, you’ll be responsible for executing on the vision and strategy of delivering exceptional products to our Payers
- This work will include developing new features and products in close partnership with payers, leading innovative pilots for groundbreaking new initiatives, investing in cost and quality of care, and exploring new revenue opportunities among our payers
- Build 0 to 1 product experiences that unlock new value for Payers in our network
- Deep customer discovery to identify and engage 10x opportunities with Payers
- Develop a vision and strategy for how we co-design programs and products with Payers, keeping quality and cost of care top of mind
- Work closely with design, engineering, data, and other cross-functional partners to learn and ship quickly
Our take
1 in 4 US citizens are currently living with treatable mental health conditions, however, a vast majority of people are unable to access the care they need, the primary reason being cost. Headway connects clients with therapists who accept insurance as payment and provides independent practitioners with the tools and resources needed to serve their patients and manage administrative workloads.
Headway’s concept is timely, with national mental health under particular strain following events from the past few years. The company facilitates over 300,000 appointments per month and has attracted backing from the likes of Accel and Google Ventures.
Covering 16 states and the District of Columbia, the company intends to broaden its presence across the US using its 2023 Series C funding of $125 million. This is a crucial avenue for further growth, as medical care deserts across the US mean the potential market is vast.
