Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- CS Degree or related technical field preferred
- Eligible for the FedRAMP security clearance
- 5+ years industry experience, 7+ preferred
- Software development experience in Go (preferred), Node.js, Rust or Java
- Experience with LLMs
- Experience with cloud technologies (i.e., AWS and Azure)
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm Charts, CloudFormation)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – being able to learn what the requirements are and being able to apply them
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Commitment to writing automated tests as an integral part of the development process
- Knowledge of a variety of modern backend software frameworks and the versatility to learn new tools and languages
What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer at Tanium, you will take part of a brand new project focused on building a new data hub that will be using LLM tooling
- You'll also be collaborating with cross-functional teams and play a key role in ensuring our services meet the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability
- Work with large data sets that will impact all other teams at Tanium, work with big data
- Build a high-performance data platform capable of handling large volumes of data in real time
- Be part of a new initiative to build confidence scores and data anonymization
- Work with various server-side technologies, persistent data stores, caches, and messaging systems
- Create automated unit tests, API tests, integration tests, and ensure quality delivery
- Author technical documentation and artifacts for the developed software

Tanium added a former US Defence Secretary to its Board in 2021. A collaboration with Salesforce provided a platform that supports IT service management, remote monitoring and management, and cybersecurity capabilities. In the same year, the appointment of CFO Mark Levine could signal an IPO in the near future.
