Who you are
- The role requires solid backend knowledge, but the focus is heavily on the frontend, working on core Experimentation tools for setting up and analysing A/B tests
- A full-stack engineer with 5+ years of tech experience, including 2+ years in frontend/full-stack roles
- Strong Front-end skills: JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and HTML. Experience with React.js is a plus
- Solid Back-end understanding: experience building APIs and using relational databases (SQL)
- Excellent communication and above-average soft skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and talking to users
- A strong UX mindset to ensure simple, self-explanatory design and intuitive interfaces
- Proactive problem-solving with a product mindset, focused on value and driving impact

What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our teams in Berlin
- Join our diverse distributed cross-functional team, and help us make cities for people, not cars, while working on exciting high-traffic data-intensive systems
- Your work will directly impact the productivity and success of internal teams, enabling them to run faster, more reliable experiments and contribute to company-wide innovations
- As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, Data Platform - Experimentation, you will be responsible for taking full ownership of the UI/UX of the AB Platform
- This work directly impacts internal teams by enabling them to run faster, more reliable experiments and contribute to company-wide innovations
- You will primarily be coding in TypeScript and working with Node.js and other tools
- You'll take full ownership of the UI/UX of the AB Platform, including redesign of the existing tools and adding AI capabilities
- Contribute directly to improving key features, focusing on performance and user experience
- Collaborate with the team to build and optimise the Experimentation Platform used by hundreds of internal users
- Work closely with product teams and users to ensure the platform is intuitive and easy to use for non-technical users, including conducting user interviews
- Help maintain and evolve high-traffic (200k RPS) back-end services
Our take
Across Europe, more and more people are choosing flexible, on-demand transport instead of owning a car. And ride-hailing, shared vehicles and new technology like autonomous driving are all part of this shift. So, cities are pushing for safer and more efficient transport, which is encouraging mobility companies to invest in electric vehicles and even driverless solutions which could eventually reshape urban travel.
Bolt has positioned themselves right in the center of this change, with is leading mobility platform that offers ride-hailing services across more than 50 countries. Through its app, Bolt connects users with transport options designed to be affordable and simple.
Recently, the company partnered with Stellantis to explore Level 4 autonomous, driverless vehicles, showing just how far ahead Bolt is looking for its next phase of mobility.
That said, Bolt operates in a very crowded market and urban mobility is highly competitive, with many local and international players all trying to come out on top. Even so, demand for shared and on-demand transport is at an all time high and only growing. Bolt's broad geographic reach, focus on scale and willingness to invest in future technologies puts it in the perfect position to keep growing.
