Role
Who you are
- At least five (5) years of experience in product management or an equivalent role
- Strong understanding of data science, machine learning, and generative AI concepts and technologies and how to apply to real user problems
- Track record of delivering data products that drive business outcomes
- Experience creating and/or implementing recommendation models
- Scrupulous about value for the business; ability to understand and focus on what’s most likely to bring ROI
- Experience with Agile/Scrum Software Development along with project management tools (Trello, Jira, Rally or equivalent) in a technical software development environment
- Experience prioritizing product backlogs and working closely with software engineers to write and refine stories for sprint execution
- Be a subject matter expert in the cloud IT space with understanding of internal and external customers’ needs
- Exceptional project management and interpersonal skills with experience managing multiple work streams across a variety of stakeholders
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent documentation/communication skills
- Experience managing competing resources and priorities
- Is a self-starter and able work independently with a bias toward action, does not let perfect be the enemy of good
- Proven ability to collaborate and problem-solve with diverse people in different parts of the organization
- Comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt to rapidly changing situations. Capable of taking a high-level vision and taking down to actionable components

- Pax8’s product team leads the industry in defining what the global cloud product marketplace will be
- We achieve this through collaboration, focus on business value, and pragmatic execution
- To ensure that what we’re building is easy-to-use, engaging, and sustainably monetizable, we’re passionate about collaboration across Pax8 and with our managed service provider (MSP) partners
- We clear barriers by compulsively assessing cost-benefit to ensure that highest priority products can be brought to market quickly, ensuring that we’re leading the field in cloud-based SaaS distribution, and solving both user and business problems pragmatically through short incubation and frequent iteration
- We build innovative products that demonstrably drive partner and customer acquisition, conversion, and retention, and bring our users clear, top-tier benefits
- The Senior Product Manager – Data Science defines and drives the vision and strategy for data products that use data science techniques to empower Pax8's buyers and sellers to grow their business
- Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, UX designers, and stakeholders, they own a roadmap focused on delivering value for both customers and the business
- Using design thinking, user testing, and experimentation, they gain insights to prioritize impactful enhancements
- The Sr. Product Manager also creates complex product artifacts, refines product processes, and supports junior team members in building new skills
- Own the complete product lifecycle for our data science product portfolio, from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization
- Serve as the subject matter expert and champion for our data science products, evangelizing the value proposition to both internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate deeply with business and engineering stakeholders across the org to plan the right product improvements at the right time to meet a demonstrated market or business need
- Communicate product strategy; collaborate with Design, Product, and Engineering to help them deeply understand the strategy so they can effectively execute to maximize our growth, speed-to-market, and value
- Distill vision and strategy into an actionable, focused roadmap that bolts into business OKRs; Socialize and advocate for the roadmap
- Prioritize work streams and guide execution to maximize our growth, speed-to-market, and value; Ideate, user test, write clear stories, refine, solve problems, perform UAT, understand your product through data, and iterate
- Lead agile ceremonies in collaboration with Engineering teams to ensure shared understanding of problems and solutions
- Guide trade-off decisions to maximize value
- Track progress against OKRs and understand product performance at a feature level
- Make data-driven product decisions using a/b testing, metric optimization, and funnel analysis
- Work closely with UX to generate insights from qual and quant data about users and features
- Seek opportunities to provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team

However, managing subscriptions to cloud products can be a convoluted process unique to each software product, presenting the need for a unified accessibility solution.
Pax8 provides an online marketplace for cloud-based software, allowing businesses to order, bill, manage, and provision cloud products within a single place. The marketplace contains a curated catalogue of cloud providers, a license management dashboard, demo infrastructure and tools for billing and invoicing, ultimately ensuring that users do not need to navigate outside the platform to manage their cloud software inventory.
Whilst many of the services provided by Pax8 are already included in cloud software applications, the company has made the smart move of partnering with software providers such as Bam Boom Cloud to unify all management tools into a single platform. By ensuring companies can browse, purchase, and manage cloud solutions within the marketplace, the company aims to increase accessibility and minimise complexities associated with cloud computing.
