Role
Who you are
- Experience of designing and building backend systems using Python and/or Node
- You have experience with using cloud AWS cloud services (GCP is also fine)
- Experience of designing and building REST APIs
- You are proficient in writing unit tests, integration tests and end-to-end tests. Experience with TDD would also be great
- You have worked with and made improvements to CI/CD tooling and responsibly running solutions in production
- You are familiar with Domain Driven Design and Event-Driven architecture

- We're hiring for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Foundations (Developer Experience) Team
- Through collaboration between product teams, principal engineers, and the Developer Experience team, this team is dedicated to enhancing developer experience by applying Team Topologies Platform as a service, Collaboration and Facilitation engagement modes
- As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in improving developer productivity and satisfaction, specifically in backend technologies
- You'll be enhancing or building new tools to address engineers' biggest pain points, tackling complex technical challenges within our platform to empower engineers across the business, or owning parts of our technology estate that support product engineers in focusing on business value

- Our structure consists of highly autonomous, cross-functional squads with the freedom to determine both their desired outcomes and the methods to achieve them
- We embrace modern engineering practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Pair Programming, while fostering a DevOps culture
- Enhancing the developer experience for engineers across Gousto
- Building scalable, reliable platforms and libraries to empower Product engineers
- Focusing on quality and performance excellence
- Evolving and improving agile development practices
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering knowledge sharing
- Driving key technical decisions to align with long-term goals
