Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in demand generation, performance marketing, or similar area
- 2+ years of experience in B2B marketing with demonstrated success driving measurable outcomes
- Proven experience managing paid media budgets and optimizing return on investment
- Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g. Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot) and CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
- Strong analytical capabilities with data-driven marketing experience and understanding of B2B funnel metrics
- Track record of A/B testing and campaign optimization
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with creative and data teams
- Exceptional written communication skills and strong cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset with bias toward action in fast-paced environments
- Excel proficiency required, SQL a plus
Desirable
- Experience with SaaS products and marketing to businesses of all sizes
- Experience managing paid media and creative agencies
- Hands-on experience with ABM, lifecycle marketing, and industry events
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Demand Generation Manager to develop the strategy and architect our program - from awareness to nurture, activation, and upsell
- You'll partner with an agency to manage a substantial paid media budget, work across diverse verticals (healthcare, education, transit), and work closely with Product and Sales to optimize every touchpoint in the customer journey to drive leads and bookings
- Define, own, and execute our end-to-end demand generation strategy across the customer lifecycle from demand generation through nurture, activation, and upsell
- Partner with an agency to scale proven channels while building new abilities to significantly increase lead volume, improve activation rates, and optimize returns
- Synthesize marketing insights to inform full-funnel creative and messaging that resonates across the customer journey for customers in segments like healthcare, business travel, and employee commute
- Partner with Sales to translate insights into high impact, scalable B2B strategies
- Collaborate with Product to reduce friction and optimize the customer experience from lead capture to first ride
- Build comprehensive nurture programs, including email marketing and segmentation strategies, to substantially increase lead quality and conversion
- Implement lead scoring and qualification frameworks to improve funnel efficiency and sales handoffs
- Partner with internal teams to implement marketing technology that enables personalized, automated campaigns at scale
- Track and optimize key funnel metrics such as MQLs, SQLs, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution
Our take
Lyft has aimed for consistent growth, making sure to pitch itself as a more reliable and friendly ride-sharing option than its main competitor, Uber. Uber has a greater market share and operates globally, but Lyft hopes to compete by its focus on ride-sharing over Uber's more diversified business approach and as a more rider-friendly and greener alternative to Uber.
Operating only in the USA and Canada, Lyft is in a position of being less affected by global events than Uber but also more vulnerable to local conditions. As an example, while it doesn't face the regulatory hurdles around employment rights that Uber does, it is unable to balance out the cost of the unusually expensive US auto insurance across its operations.
In 2022, Lyft acquired PBSC Urban Solutions, a bike-share equipment and technology supplier, allowing Lyft to compete in new verticals and reaffirming its commitment to green transportation. It has also trialled and launched Lyft Assisted, where drivers help passengers from their door into the car to get to medical appointments. These developments chime well with Lyft's unique selling point as a friendlier and more environmentally aware ride-sharing app, whilst the acquisition of European competitor Freenow could add 6 million new riders to its platform in 2026.
