Climate change and complex geopolitics are demanding better forecasting tools for industries reliant on the physical world. Enter Jua, a Swiss startup building a "large physics model" to tackle this challenge.
Believing current AI models like GraphCast and Pangu aren't powerful enough, Jua provides a larger model, incorporating satellite imagery and topography, aiming to predict not just the weather but various natural occurrences. This end-to-end system promises not only higher accuracy but also lower operational costs thanks to its efficient design.
Though in its early stages, Jua has raised substantial funding, with investors drawn to its potential to become a foundational model for understanding the physical world. Initially targeting the energy industry, the company has plans to explore the agriculture, insurance, transportation and government sectors in the future.
