- 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager, Delivery Manager, or Project Manager in software development
- Proven experience managing technical projects across engineering teams in SaaS or cloud-based environments
- Track record of successfully coaching teams on agile principles and improving delivery efficiency
- Deep expertise with tools like Jira, Confluence, Github, Google Suite
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to define KPIs and derive insights for continuous improvement
- Experience working in fast-paced startups or scaling organizations with globally distributed teams
Desirable
- Familiarity with Compute resell models or experience integrating compute resale strategies into product offerings
- Experience with HPC (High-Performance Computing) and optimizing compute-heavy workloads for performance and cost
- Background in Life Sciences, bioinformatics, or related domains
- Experience working on B2D (Business-to-Developer) services, understanding developer workflows and needs
- Background in services where security and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO) have been a key consideration
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Program/Delivery Manager to drive execution, optimize delivery processes, and empower technical teams by ensuring excellence in key areas such as deployment, incident and vulnerability management, and ongoing maintenance and support
- In this critical role, you will manage programs and cross-functional initiatives across the Product Engineering Organization, ensuring teams deliver on time, with high quality, and clear impact
- You’ll bring a structured yet flexible approach to program management
- Importantly, you’ll lead through influence, fostering collaboration and alignment across diverse teams, and empowering stakeholders to achieve shared goals without relying on direct reporting relationships
- You will collaborate closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Technical Leads to streamline processes, define clear deliverables, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Acting as an Agile Coach, you will enable teams to excel by promoting lightweight, efficient workflows and empowering them to achieve their full potential
- Oversee and coordinate programs and projects across Seqera’s Engineering teams, ensuring that teams deliver on-time, with high quality, and with a clear impact
- Guide teams to clarify goals, deliverables, and success metrics for initiatives, breaking down complex projects into actionable workstreams
- Enable our engineering team to proactively manage dependencies, risks, and blockers across teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Track and communicate project status, impacts, and trade-offs to stakeholders, providing visibility at both tactical and strategic levels
- Own and improve project and information management systems for our R&D organisation, continuously improving it’s structure to fit our evolving business
- Lead teams to deliver high-quality software solutions with predictable timelines
- Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, automate processes, and scale delivery methodologies as Seqera grows
- Define and analyze key delivery performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve team efficiency and outcomes
- Facilitate release management processes, working closely with engineering leads to streamline cloud and enterprise software delivery
- Champion agile methodologies, coaching teams to tailor processes (Scrum, Kanban) for their needs and improve sprint predictability
- Help teams drive their agile ceremonies (standups, retrospectives, sprint planning) and foster a culture of iteration and ownership
- Continuously identify process gaps and implement solutions that enhance team collaboration and execution
Our take
Commercial DNA sequencing and advances in biometrics have led to an explosion in biological data, which is likely to prove critical in tackling the major problems facing the life sciences. The problem is, the data is so vast in quantity and diverse in type that analysing it and managing it can prove prohibitively expensive. This is where data orchestration and workflow platform Seqera Labs comes into its own.
Seqera is focused predominantly on facilitating big data analysis and management in the life sciences, and it has gotten impressive traction. Its Nextflow product, a distributed data analysis solution, has been used by over 10,000 organizations. This has included teams working on COVID sequencing, and on cancers.
What's so valuable about its offering is that it can be used by people who understand the data without the need for external teams, which has led to it becoming an industry standard. Seqera has been funded generously, and acquired AI bioinformatics company TinyBio, empowering it to play a pivotal role in key life-sciences developments going forward.
