Who you are
- We're looking for someone ready to dive into AI projects, collaborate with teams, and make an impact
- Be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited institution
- Be able to showcase your dedication to AI by sharing examples of academic or personal AI projects
- Have a record of publications in AI conferences/journals, such as ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, etc
- Be able to demonstrate a solid foundation in AI research principles and methodologies
- Be proficient in programming languages like Python, deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
- Be able to illustrate your ability to work within a collaborative team environment and contribute fresh ideas
- Be able to highlight your problem-solving skills and capability to approach challenges with creativity and critical thinking
- Be able to embrace a dynamic work environment by showcasing your ability to manage projects and deadlines

- The Zoom AI Research team is a dynamic team passionate about using NLP, LLMs, and Transformers to reshape virtual communication on Zoom
- Elevate communication through advanced NLP
- Leverage LLMs for intelligent text generation
- Use Transformers for real-time language processing
- Working closely with experienced researchers to develop and refine AI models, algorithms, and techniques
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into practical solutions that align with business needs
- Staying updated with current AI research in deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and reinforcement learning
- Designing & conducting experiments, prototyping, and rigorously evaluating AI models to assess their effectiveness and real-world applicability
- Contributing to discussions and presentations, explaining complex technical concepts clearly and understandably to technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborating on research papers for conferences and journals, fostering your growth within the AI research community

Our take
Zoom reworked video conferencing when most people assumed it was a solved problem, with services from Cisco and Skype already ubiquitous in workplaces and homes. However, its videoconferencing infrastructure was simpler to use, faster and more flexible than any previous solution, and it swiftly took the world by storm.
Its success bred competition, however, and companies such as Microsoft and Google, along with numerous smaller communications firms, have begun making inroads on Zoom's formerly commanding lead. Additionally, as workplaces are mostly adopting a hybrid or flexible working strategy, some of its importance as a workplace tool is wearing off and it is recording a gradual decline in daily usage rates.
To counter these trends, Zoom is expanding its business offerings through product development and strategic acquisitions. Alongside many other large tech companies, it has battled through a difficult economic situation, but it nonetheless remains a profitable company and household name. Plus, its track record of innovation means it is still very much one to watch in the communications space.
