Embedded Software, System, and Test Engineer Intern, Motorola Solutions

• In-progress Bachelor's degree or preferably in-progress graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical fields
• Ability to work independently upon receiving instruction/feedback, take initiative, and effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers
• Proficiency with PC office applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and the internal team
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug testing

Desirable

• The Intern – Embedded Software, System, and Test Engineer will report to the Senior Engineering Director heading our Irvine Engineering team
• The successful individual in this role will learn and assist with embedded software development, debugging, and testing for our advanced MIMO MANET radios for different applications
• This internship is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ Irvine office in the heart of Irvine near the vibrant Irvine Spectrum
• The following is a list of at least some of the current essential functions of this internship opportunity
• Embedded firmware development, implementation, testing, and debugging for Silvus StreamCaster radios
• Development of firmware testing environments and scripts
• Opportunities to further engage, learn, and develop skills as projects progress
• Indoor air-conditioned facility
• Some outdoor fieldwork
• Lift equipment, up to 50 lbs. for the setup of demonstration and testing
• Walking/Moving in the lab
