Role
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly data-centric roles
- You are proficient with data architectures such as data warehousing and data lakes
- You have experience with batch and streaming data pipeline technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Flink)
- You have experience with building and running data pipelines on public clouds (e.g. AWS, GCP)
- You are proficient with SQL, NoSQL, and object storage (e.g. PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, S3)
What the job involves
- There's much exciting and challenging work ahead — from refining Tome's data strategy in collaboration with ML and software engineers, to building data pipelines for ML model training, to helping cross-functional stakeholders gain new insights
- Architect, implement, and run Tome's data processing and storage systems for ML and analytics
- Design, build, and run data pipelines
- Create data models that support advanced analytics and reporting
- Build and maintain APIs for data access and integration with other systems
- Integrate Tome's data systems with external data sources and sinks
- Stay abreast of the latest data technologies and trends to ensure state of the art data processing capabilities for Tome
Our take
On a mission to help tell stories, Tome uses artificial intelligence to help turn users’ ideas into a more compelling visual narrative. It is considered in many ways like a more stagnant PowerPoint presentation, enabling users to easily create visual stories through layouts and images.
The product has experienced expansive and varied uptake, being used to close new business, prepare design portfolios, articulate brand vision, and create lesson plans, to name but a few. It stands out for generating full visual narratives with ease; users simply type in a prompt and hit enter, taking away the trials and tribulations that often come with a presentation.
The company is very green but just six months after its founding in mid-2022, it had already accrued more than one million users - the fastest productivity tool to do so - that ranged from students and teachers to go-to-market teams. 2023 series B funding will be used to add more value for its growing community.
