Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related analytical field. A master's degree is a plus
- Proven (3-5 years) experience in a strategy & operations, operations consulting, product ops, or similar role, preferably within the e-commerce or logistics industry
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets, utilizing tools such as SQL, Excel, and data visualization software
- Experience with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of e-commerce operations, supply chain management, and fulfillment processes
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives, with a track record of delivering measurable results
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide actionable recommendations
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Project management experience, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive mindset, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Strategy and Operations Manager to join our fast-growing e-commerce fulfillment company
- As a Sr. S&O Manager, you will play a critical role in identifying and executing strategic initiatives that support the company's growth trajectory
- You will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets and providing actionable insights to senior management
- Your expertise in strategy formulation balanced with your discipline in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives to completion will directly contribute to our company's success in the highly competitive e-commerce industry
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of key performance indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Present insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis and industry knowledge to support decision-making processes
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, finance, and marketing, to gather input, define objectives, and execute on strategic initiatives
- Design and implement performance tracking dashboards, reports, and metrics to monitor and communicate the progress and impact of strategic initiatives
- Manage your portfolio of strategic initiatives in collaboration with our PMO team, ensuring cross-functional resources execute on time and to the impact expected
Our take
ShipMonk was created when its founder realized how US merchants would often refuse to ship to certain locations internationally. The company has grown to allow small to medium size e-commerce brands to scale through its 4-in-1 cloud based software, which integrates with a company's inventory management, orders, warehousing and shipping systems.
To supplement its SaaS and offer real logistical value, ShipMonk operates a growing number of strategically located warehouses throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and the UK. This means that even the smallest eCommerce brands are able to deliver goods within just two days, while reducing shipping costs compared to traditional delivery channels.
Since launching in 2014, ShipMonkâs trajectory has been remarkable for a company that was largely bootstrapped without major funding. However, 2020 saw a boom in demand for its services, and since then ShipMonk has scaled up enormously, receiving huge financial investment and acquiring complementary businesses along the way. Having now established fulfilment centres in Birmingham (UK) and Texas, ShipMonk is eyeing up strategic acquisitions and additional expansion within the US and Europe.
