Role
Who you are
- BA/BS degree, preferably in English, creative writing, or a related field
- Exceptional writing skills, including a finely tuned sense of English grammar and usage
- Strong critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects
- Previous professional writing experience (educational or YA content preferred)
- Previous experience working in education preferred
What the job involves
- This is a remote, 1099 consulting role for three months with a possible extension
- In this role, you will work closely with editors and curriculum designers to create eloquent and engaging language arts content for grades PK-5
- We are especially interested in hiring writers who can create compelling elementary school content for reading comprehension and writer's craft activities
- Researching informational topics of interest to a school-aged audience
- Writing sentences, paragraphs, and longer passages for use in online activities
- Crafting questions, answers, and explanations based on guidelines and samples
- Adhering to conventions in The Chicago Manual of Style and an in-house style guide
- Accepting and implementing feedback

This Spanish language learning app uses neuroscience research to perfect the learning of the Spanish language, exemplifying how IXL has grown from a revolutionary online learning platform to a multi-pronged investor in education. That being said, it still releases its own groundbreaking products such as the IXL Math "Takeoff" platform, a personalised whole-class instruction resource for teachers.
