Staff Accountant, Crossover Health

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Excellent accounting and operational skills with strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOLUP, pivot tables) and accounting software
• The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction; These physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
• Requires corrected vision, hearing and speech within normal ranges. Must be able to effectively communicate with team members

Desirable

• The Staff Accountant supports the monthly general ledger close process, with a focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition, including ensuring completeness of general ledger transactions, performing analytical reviews of results, and researching variances
• Directly assist the accounting team in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables and assist with special projects
• Prepares and reconciles monthly balance sheet accounts, and analyzes general ledger account activity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Company accounting policies
• Prepares and assists with various tax filings such as sales, property, and municipal
• Assists with insurance management and ad hoc requests
• Assists with lease management
• Assists with external audits by providing necessary support and documentation
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Success in this role requires an analytical mindset, self-direction and a strong work ethic for time-sensitive deliverables and close timelines
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, including in a remote work environment, to manage multiple tasks and/or projects with hard deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environment
• Performs ad hoc duties and analyses as needed
• May require standing, walking and sitting for extended amounts of time
