Role
Who you are
- We're looking for a Business Development Representative who wants to be on the phone every day, not hiding behind email templates
- 0-2 years' experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or a related field
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong desire to build a career in sales
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Coachable, competitive, and resilient when faced with rejection
- Interest in ecommerce, Shopify, or SaaS is advantageous
- Based in New York City or willing to relocate
What the job involves
- You'll be the first voice a prospective merchant hears from Alia. Your role is to identify opportunities, create demand, and hand off qualified conversations to our Account Executives
- This is an excellent entry point for someone who wants to build a successful career in sales and is ready to put in the work to make it happen
- Make outbound calls and run outreach sequences to Shopify merchants and ecommerce brands daily
- Qualify inbound leads quickly and book meetings for our Account Executive team
- Research target accounts and personalise outreach to improve engagement
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to test messaging and improve conversion rates
- Maintain clean and accurate CRM data to support reliable pipeline reporting
- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly targets
- Travel to meet clients and prospects at dinners, industry conferences, and events to help build pipeline opportunities
