Who you are
- We're looking for an inquisitive, curious, and talented Senior Product Designer to join our team
- If you're a systems-thinking Senior Product Designer who's excited to work on significant, meaningful, and complex problems with real-world impact, come help us make the Internet better! We'd love to hear from you
- 8+ years working in professional UX / product design roles
- Deep understanding of human-centered design
- Strong knowledge of accessibility principles and best practices (WCAG, etc.)
- Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with experimentation, moving quickly, and releasing product regularly
- Experience designing for growth, including acquisition, conversion, and retention experiences
- Experience with A/B testing and data-driven design decision-making
- Technical expertise and an understanding of network services/developer tools are a plus
- Using generative AI design and coding tools to accelerate the design process is a plus
What the job involves
- Your work will impact and influence the user experience of a product used by millions of people daily
- In this role you will join our Platform design team and work closely with other designers, engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to design key growth-related experiences such as onboarding, product recommendations, and more
- Demonstrate talent and passion for designing end-to-end user experiences
- Distill complex, technical problems into approachable products and features using ideation, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to work through technical tradeoffs that affect products and roadmaps
- Partner with other designers on the design team to collaborate on shared patterns, product vision, and design goals
- Facilitate design reviews with cross-functional teams
- Influence and contribute to the internal design process and team culture
- Make time to mentor other designers on the team and share your craft, learning as you teach
- Find ways to grow design's impact within the organization, spending time to share design decisions throughout the organization that would benefit other teams and product areas

Our take
Cloudflare is a multi-service global network that provides web security and infrastructure, DDoS mitigation services, and a content delivery network. Founded in 2009, Cloudflare has risen to become an industry giant, with around 25 million global internet properties on its network.
Cloudflare has been responsible for a number of admirable initiatives, offering free web protection to human rights groups, journalists, artists, and US election websites. This goes some way to counteracting the flak Cloudflare has received in some circles for the controversial groups and users who use its services. This chequered history, however, has not affected its over 80% market share in the content delivery network field.
This is perhaps in part because it has proven sharp at staying abreast of the rapidly morphing tech and digital space and customer demands. For example, Cloudflare is shifting to 100% renewable energy usage to create a zero-emissions internet, and in 2020 released a feature that would help users navigate data privacy regulations by selecting where their data is stored.
The cloud infrastructure market reached $53 billion in 2022. While the Big 3 (Amazon, Microsoft, and Google) own 65% of the market, that still leaves billions of dollars left for companies such as Cloudflare. Its ambitious and successful work is likely to continue being a crucial feature of the web, but in 2023, placed it in the crosshairs of hackers looking to exploit its infrastructure. The beginning of 2024 saw Cloudflare vow to bolster its security and patch vulnerabilities.
