- Experience - 3+ years of security software engineering experience at a fast-moving technology company, including experience with building performant, highly interactive web applications

What the job involves
- The Persona Security Team is looking for a software engineer to join us
- You’ll own security sensitive libraries and components of our production platform
- You'll play a pivotal role in fortifying our defenses against evolving threats
- Your mission: design, build and maintain security libraries and systems to protect our customers’ accounts and data in our platform
- You'll have the opportunity to employ cutting-edge technologies, innovative strategies, and your expertise to thwart potential attacks before they disrupt our operations
- This position is based at our headquarters in San Francisco
- Own the systems used to encrypt our customers’ data
- Refine the authentication and authorization components in our product, used by our customers to access their accounts every day
- Design, build, and maintain flexible and reusable security libraries for other engineering teams at Persona to use
- Propose, build, and ship new security features in our product
- Participate in the on-call rotation for the Security Team

It offers a comprehensive suite of automated identity verification components with worldwide coverage that can be configured, branded and themed to create custom-tailored flows for any use case.
Businesses and governmental organizations can access Persona’s platform via an API, which supports various documents from government-issued IDs to biometrics, ensuring customers are who they claim to be. Persona’s platform also collects passive signals such as a user’s device, location and behavioural patterns to provide a more holistic risk profile, beneficial in financial and insurance contexts.
An impressive partnership with MDT saw Persona enable credit unions to adjust their identity verification flows in real-time, strengthening fraud prevention. The company continues to attract funding which supports the scaling of its offerings and reach. In fact, in 2025, it reached a $2 billion valuation, which showcases the success it has had.
