Role
Who you are
- B2B sales expertise in logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain
- Experience building or scaling startups or entrepreneurial leadership within a larger organization
- An extensive network in logistics or related industries
- Fundraising experience is a plus
- Strong background in software engineering, AI/ML, or geospatial analytics
- Proven track record of leading technical teams or startups
- Experience integrating advanced tools like Natural Language Processing, automation, or data visualization
- Hands-on builder with an entrepreneurial mindset
What the job involves
- As co-founders, you will lead the company from zero to one, taking ownership of this ambitious vision. We’re looking for one Commercial Co-Founder and one Technical Co-Founder to bring complementary skills to the table
- Develop and refine the business model, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plan
- Build and lead Sales, Marketing, and Finance functions, including fundraising efforts
- Engage with potential customers in logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain sectors to validate and scale the product
- Lead product development and oversee technical architecture to build a scalable platform
- Integrate AI and geospatial tools to create a best-in-class decision-making solution

Our take
There's been an increase in major corporations opening innovation hubs and accelerator programs to try and match the pace of nimbler startups - of which Beam is the incubator/accelerator supported by BEUMER Group. The builder helps founders access pre-seed funding, along with BEUMER Group's extensive network of contacts and support.
BEUMER Group is an intralogistics company, so Beam’s focus is naturally the same. It’s a company that fits neatly into the German scene: logistics is the country’s third largest economic sector, and there’s a lively startup ecosystem looking to disrupt it. It’s also the largest European region in which these kind of enterprise-supported startup schemes are run, so onboarding founders in theory shouldn’t be a hard sell.
The sticking point for Beam could be the 20% equity it requires from its startup founders, which isn’t competitive with the more typical 7-10% of its contemporaries. In a trillion euro European industry ripe for disruption, however, it may find sufficient startups happy to take on that compromise, with only time able to tell whether that will be the case.
