Who you are
- Operational Excellence: Manage and improve our modern DevOps stack, including ArgoCD for GitOps, GitHub Actions for CI/CD, and Cloudflare for edge protection
- Architecture & Governance: Act as the primary technical advisor for cloud architecture. Ensure that as product teams build new features, the underlying infrastructure is scalable by default
- Autonomy & Influence: Operate with minimal guidance to identify bottlenecks, propose architectural shifts, and lead their execution
- Stakeholder Partnership: Be the "visible lead" for infrastructure. Distill complex technical tradeoffs into business-ready decisions for Finance and Product leadership
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years managing engineering teams in a cloud-native environment, with a total of 10+ years in technology
- AWS Mastery: Deep expertise in the AWS ecosystem, specifically EKS (Kubernetes), IAM, VPC, and RDS
- Modern DevOps Stack: Expert-level knowledge of GitOps workflows (ArgoCD), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- FinOps & Cost Management: Proven track record of managing seven-figure cloud budgets and implementing successful cost-reduction strategies
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives from conception to completion with minimal oversight

What the job involves
- Fingerprint is scaling rapidly, and our infrastructure is the bedrock of our 25B+ annual request volume. We are looking for a Manager of Cloud Platform Engineering to lead a team of 6 elite engineers
- In this role, you aren’t just keeping the lights on—you are the architect of our scalability, the guardian of our hosting efficiency, and the primary bridge between Engineering and Finance. You will have high autonomy to define what "best-in-class" infrastructure looks like for a high-growth SaaS leader
- Lead & Elevate: Direct a team of 6 Cloud Engineers. You will foster a culture of high ownership, technical excellence, and "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) first
- Scale the Platform: Oversee the evolution of our AWS EKS clusters, ensuring they remain resilient, performant, and secure under massive load
- Strategic FinOps: Partner directly with the Finance team to manage hosting costs. You will be responsible for cost-visibility, and driving a "cost-conscious" engineering culture
- Establish the Standard: Define and enforce infrastructure best practices (security, CI/CD, observability) across the entire engineering organization
Our take
Digital fingerprinting is an essential process in web browsers that tracks the digital address of a device to monitor web activity. This technique facilitates the identification of fraud and spam, as well as warning signs of account takeovers. However, the success of this requires users to accept cookies, a requirement that is easy to avoid.
Fingerprint provides a digital fingerprinting tool that generates a unique identifier of browser activity without requiring the user to accept cookies. The service uses the same WebGL and canvas fingerprinting utilized by existing competitors, but instead of focusing on devices, it identifies web activity. Suspicious activity will result in the identified user being logged in a database, allowing the service to be improved for others.
With this innovative approach, Fingerprint has been able to build up an impressive client roster of over 6,000 companies, including 16% of the top 500 websites by traffic. As well as displaying sustained growth through funding rounds, the company has also continued to improve upon its offering.
