Who you are
- We’re looking for a commercially-minded analyst who thrives on experimentation, can navigate ambiguity, and is hungry to scale a mission-driven product to millions more people
- We are looking for a self-starter, focused on results, with a demonstrated background in using analytics to drive the understanding, growth, and success of a product
- 5+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis within a cross functional digital product environment
- A strong ability to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders in a concise and engaging manner
- Experience conducting large scale A/B experiments and interpreting results to drive product and business decisions
- Ability to define new product metrics from complex, unstructured data
- Fluency with commercial data and key concepts around user value and profitability
- Knowledge of statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, regressions)
- Excellent SQL skills
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Superset, Looker, Mode
- Experience with data modelling/dbt is a nice-to-have, but not essential
- Fluency in Python and its application in data analysis is a nice-to-have, but not essential
What the job involves
- This is a ‘Level 4’ position. Cleo has 5 internal levels of competency within Product Analytics
- As a Lead Product Analyst in our Growth pillar you’ll enable your team to make better decisions, faster
- Working as part of a cross-functional squad alongside Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers, you’ll apply your expertise to help unlock Cleo’s next phase of growth
- You will leverage rich user data and sophisticated analytical techniques to see your insights move key metrics like conversion and retention
- This is a high-impact role where your work will shape the strategic direction of Cleo’s growth engine
- You’ll also sit within the wider data function here at Cleo; a hotshot chapter of 65 Data Scientists, Product Analysts, and Analytic Engineers with significant industry experience who are at the heart of everything we do at Cleo
- Proactively explore our product and funnel data to identify moments of drop-off, untapped segments, pricing inefficiencies, and opportunities to boost revenue or LTV
- Design and analyse A/B and multivariate tests to rapidly validate hypotheses—across onboarding, product features, messaging, and pricing
- Conduct deep-dive analysis of our EWA feature-set and commercial profit and loss metrics to understand user behaviour, and help us investigate opportunities to grow engagement and LTV
- Influence the roadmap of your team through presentation of data-based recommendations
- Define how we quantitatively evaluate success, setting KPIs, designing tracking to measure what really matters, delving into the leading indicators of user behaviour
- Build models of user-segmentation, customer lifetime value etc
- Work with Analytics Engineering to prioritise data modelling needs in your area as well as directly contributing to our transformed data codebase

Cleo was one of the first companies to make great use of chatbots that sit within Facebook's messenger app. This chatbot-first approach and Gen Z user base have given it strong virality. It now has millions of registered users, 99% of which are based in the US, leading to a decision to take a year break from the UK market to focus on its US Gen Z customers. And after a successful year in the US its now eyeing up a return to the UK.
Its Series C funding will help the company to double down in the US, where it will make a significant increase in employee headcount, and enable Cleo to maintain and expand its service during an economic downturn.
Financial advice delivered via bots is a crowded space, so Cleo benefits from having a strong brand presence. It has gone for very bold, fun, Gen Z-focused messaging which helps it to stand out from competitors such as Emma, Plum, and Chip.
